Second French Fries

Woman with suprised look on her face. A tray piled high with french fries from Scooters World Famous Dawg House

Scooters World Famous Dawg House, Mentor Ohio is where the picture is from. For a bunch of teenage kids during a summer lunch rush they are swinging.

Like those Hungry Hungry Hobbits you'll want to use two good sized potatoes for this project.

You can use a yam or sweet potato if you want to.

Directions

  1. 2 Long Potatoes
  2. Italian Salad dressing
  3. Herbs & spices

This is a recipe an absolute beginner can master in no times. Blah Blah Blah about the different sized baskets and temperature marking and stuff like that on your air fryer vs what's on mine. Get it close enough.

Wash your taters.

Cut one tater so they are about 1/8-1/4 inch per side, slightly bigger than fast food fries. You want them to be all about the same size. You want them to be long.

You can cut them thicker or like a steak fry but you'll need to increase the cooking time. Better to go low and slow than quick and burn.

Put these guys into a zip lock bag, if they can fit, or on a plate. You want to coat these guys in Italian salad dressing. You don't want them really soaked.

Sprinkle on any other herbs and spices you want. Garlic powder, black pepper, salt.

Put the cut tater into the basket and have at it.

Cook this first side for 10 minutes at about 360-380f.

Now is a good time to cut, oil, and season the other potato.

When the air fryer dings take the basket out, give a toss and put it back in for another 5 minutes.

This time when it dings empty the basket on a plate or sheet of foil and put in the oven while cooking the fries from the second tater.

Repeat the 10 minute, toss, 5 minute cook cycle. Mix with the first batch of fries, put the whole pile back in the basket and heat for 3-5 minutes.

Serve with ketchup, plain, ranch, or a cheese sauce.
